SB 818 mandates adding considerable course material and instruction on sex education in public schools. After reviewing the materials mandated in the bill that are contained in the National Sex Education Standards, the Catholic Conference feels compelled to speak about this bill in order to call attention about some of the topics that will be taught to Catholics attending public schools and teachers who are Catholic required to provide instruction on these topics. Parents are the primary educators of their children and when public education does not uphold the dignity of the human person, we must express our objections. Please read the Fact Sheet in opposition to SB 818.
