Pope Benedict XVI today named a successor to retiring Bishop Thomas Doran of Rockford.
Msgr. David Malloy, 56, former general secretary of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), will succeed Bishop Doran. Msgr. Malloy was named administrator at St. Francis De Sales Parish, Lake Geneva, Wisc., 2011-2012, and pastor of that parish in 2012.

UPDATE: Bishop-elect Malloy's ordination and installation will take place at 2 p.m. on May 14, 2012 at the BMO Harris Bank Center in Rockford. Each parish will be allotted a certain number of tickets to the ceremony.
